First Aid Courses
This course is recognized by Worksafe BC, and covers the basic skills of a workplace first aid attendant. Skills covered include patient assessment, CPR with use of AEDs, traumatic injury management, splinting, burns, and documentation. All wildland firefighters must have OFA 1 and Transport Endorsement as a minimum.

OFA 1 Occupational First Aid - Level 1
TE Transportation Endorsement
This course is recognized by Worksafe BC. It is not a stand alone course, but intended as a supplement to OFA 1 or 2. Skills covered focus on spinal motion restriction, patient packaging and transportation. All wildland firefighters must have OFA 1 and Transport Endorsement as a minimum.

FR 3 First Responder
This courses include eligibility for BC EMALB Licensing evaluations, as well as Canadian Red Cross Certification. FR includes comprehensive first aid and CPR skills for professional first responders, such as the patient assessment model, circulatory and respiratory emergencies, critical interventions, musculoskeletal injuries, acute and chronic illnesses, head and spinal injuries and patient transport.
40 hours, 4 days
3 year certification, 20 hour recertification course
EMR Emergency Medical Responder
This courses include eligibility for BC EMALB Licensing evaluations, as well as Canadian Red Cross Certification. EMR builds on FR scope of practice, including several new advanced protocols. EMR competencies are outlined in the National Occupational Competency Profile as indicated by the Paramedics Association of Canada.
